I was just wondering what kinds of games people might have enjoyed from the past or continue to enjoy today. I don't know if we call it "classic game" or "retro games", but I guess that doesn't matter.
A lot of my favorite video games are much older, and most of them are from the 8-bit and 16-bit home console era. Here are some of my all time favorite games more or less ranked (not counting competitive arcade fighting games, since I made another thread about those):
1. Kid Icarus: Uprising 2. Super Mario Bros. 2 3. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 4. The Legend of Zelda 5. Streets of Rage 2 6. Rocketknight Adventures 7. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 8. Super Mario Bros. 3 9. Kid Icarus 10. Bubble Bobble
So basically 9 of my 10 favorite games were from those eras. I still play those games a lot even 30 years later. So, what kinds of classic games do you have, and which do you love and play the most?

Don't really play them anymore sadly, but I liked the Mario and Zelda games. Sonic was cool too. I liked Metroid up until it started to get too hard for me lol. Same with MegaMan. Oh yeah, and the Aladdin game I liked too. Those I remember the most. And the Golden Eye game. That was always fun. I especially liked playing multiplayer and piss everyone off by hiding and then killing them once they got close enough to me. In my early teen years my favorite was 1080. I'd play that a lot with my sister. Then I went a long time with barely playing anything, and when I did start again it was mostly DDR and Guitar Hero when I'd visit family who had those games. I know Guitar Hero definitely doesn't count as a classic game, but maybe DDR even though I was an adult the first time I played it.

I'm not sure how to judge what counts as classic, but I would be willing to call DDR a classic. I used to love that game at the arcades! I never got into Metroid because it was always too difficult and confusing for me and I didn't know anyone else who played it who could share tips with me (which is how we all got better at games back in the 80s before tutorials and YouTube walkthroughs and gaming guides). I have beaten Mega Man 2 and Mega Man 3 and Mega Man X, but the rest of them are too difficult for me as well.
Oh, I also beat the Genesis Beauty and the Beast: Belle's Quest game. I can honestly say that it is the most appropriate game for me ever. You play as Belle and you're basically a complete pacifist who has to just run out of everyone's way and find your way through the levels lol
